Weave expanded its patient engagement capabilities with a new integration with athenahealth. The patient engagement solution links practice operations with communication tools. Also, the patient engagement platform helps healthcare providers improve workflows and financial performance. Weave, an AI-powered patient engagement and payments platform for healthcare practices, announced an agreement with athenahealth, Inc. through the athenahealth® Marketplace program.
The newly integrated application connects operational processes with patient communication tools for healthcare providers. This means practices can run more efficiently, while providing an improved experience for patients. The integration tackles the most frequent workflow problems and revenue gaps that healthcare organizations encounter daily. First, Weave recovers missed call revenue for practices. If a call from a patient is missed or goes to voicemail, the platform automatically sends a follow-up text message. That means conversations can continue without staff intervention.
It also cuts appointment no-shows, adds Weave. Automated reminders will send confirmations and appointment reminders via text and email. As a result, patients are notified on time before scheduled visits. The platform also frees up time for front-desk teams. With Two-Way Messaging, staff can send and receive texts from the practice’s business number. As a result, teams can better manage patient inquiries, appointment confirmations and follow-up communications. The system also allows communication on a scale not possible with traditional phone calls. Weave also makes it easier to collect payments. Integrated payment tools offer patients a choice of payment options.
These include text-to-pay links, card-on-file, buy-now-pay-later and in-office payment terminals. Also, all payment activity links directly to athenaOne billing records.
“Practices already leveraging the powerful EHR functionality of athenaOne can now use Weave to automate repetitive but important daily tasks, capture more opportunities, and drive sustainable growth with a fully integrated solution,” said Scott Chandler, VP of Strategic Partnerships at Weave. “By automating a greater share of operations, Weave gives practice staff back valuable time for the high-value, person-centered interactions that help keep patients coming back.”
Integration Supports Healthcare Practice Growth
As a new Marketplace partner, Weave joins athenahealth’s growing ecosystem of integrated healthcare technology solutions. The Marketplace supports connections with third-party applications, services, and systems. Consequently, innovative healthcare solutions become available to more than 160,000 providers across the athenaOne network. The open ecosystem allows athenaOne customers to access and integrate complementary technologies quickly. Therefore, providers can extend platform capabilities without disrupting existing workflows. Also the integration helps healthcare organizations reduce friction throughout the patient journey.
Providers and administrators can smoothen communication, automate routine tasks, and improve operational work rate. Also, patients benefit from more convenient interactions and payment experiences. The collaboration reflects the increasing demand for healthcare automation, patient communication technology, and integrated digital health solutions. By combining Weave’s AI-powered platform with athenaOne capabilities, healthcare organizations can strengthen patient relationships, improve practice outcomes, and support long-term financial growth.
