CareSource Georgia Announces Dr. Tamika Lasege as Chief Medical Officer

CareSource Georgia has appointed Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tamika Lasege to oversee its clinical strategy and healthcare initiatives. The nonprofit managed care organization announced the leadership appointment as it continues to strengthen care delivery across the state.

In her new role, Dr.As a leader, Lasege will oversee the clinical programs and work hand in hand with the healthcare professionals and other entities within the community. This will include promoting health-related activities and offering more population health services, which entail maternal/infant health care, behavioral health, and chronic disease management.

In addition, Lasege comes with many years of experience working in the field of clinical care as well as healthcare administration. Her previous professional experience includes serving as a board-certified neonatologist and pediatrician. Her previous positions have included working as the Chief Medical Officer for UnitedHealthcare in Georgia. More recently, she held the position of Georgia market medical executive at Cigna, overseeing medical strategy planning.

In response to the move, Dr. Lasege stated her pleasure at joining CareSource and moving toward its mission. Dr. Lasege received a Master of Health Care Administration from the University of Cincinnati. She is a doctor from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a biologist from Yale University. She is a board member of several organizations, including Families First.
