Curaleaf Unveils Free CPD-Accredited Platform to Close Medical Cannabis Training Gap for UK Healthcare Professionals

Medical Cannabis

Curaleaf International recently unveiled a brand-new educational platform. This digital initiative offers free, CPD-accredited medical cannabis training to healthcare professionals across the United Kingdom. Curaleaf currently leads the global medical cannabis industry. Consequently, the company wants to improve clinical understanding nationwide.

The unveiling addresses a major educational gap among British general practitioners. For instance, a recent Curaleaf survey revealed shocking statistics. Only four percent of UK doctors received formal education on cannabis medicines. Furthermore, eighty-one percent described their understanding as extremely limited or non-existent. Clearly, 55% demand deeper knowledge before recommending it to patients.

Medical cannabis became legal across the UK in 2018. Today, more than 60,000 British patients actively hold valid medical prescriptions. However, mainstream medical schools still exclude the endocannabinoid system from their core curricula. Therefore, clinicians struggle to find reliable clinical guidance. Curaleaf designed this platform to bridge that exact gap. It equips doctors with clear regulatory details. Thus, they can integrate these medicines safely.

A Data-Driven Syllabus for Clinicians

Clinicians can access the courses online at curaleafeducation.com. Further, the structured framework guides users through the foundational science and practical applications. Doctors will receive official CPD credits upon completion of the course modules. The training runs smoothly from elementary to advanced clinical specialties.

Moreover, the syllabus covers three essential pillars. These pillars include the foundations of cannabis science and core clinical practice. The modules also focus heavily on specialist therapeutic conditions. Curaleaf uses real-world data from the UK Medical Cannabis Registry to build these insights. This registry represents the largest clinical database of its kind globally. It contains health records from over 55,000 patients.

Dr Simon Erridge, Research Director at Curaleaf Clinic, said: “I regularly speak with GPs and consultants who want to have informed conversations with their patients about medical cannabis, but simply haven’t had the training. What we’ve built with the Education Platform is what I wish I’d had access to when I started working in this field: clear, evidence-led modules that cut through the noise and give clinicians the confidence to integrate medical cannabis into their practice responsibly.”

Juan Martinez, CEO of Curaleaf International, added: “Education is the foundation of responsible access. Every clinician we equip with evidence-based training becomes a more confident, capable prescriber, and that is how we build the trust on which the long-term, sustainable growth of medical cannabis depends.”
