GE HealthCare has expanded its cardiovascular ultrasound portfolio with three new Vivid systems. The company introduced Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced, and Vivid Focus. The systems target different imaging and workflow requirements across cardiology care settings. GE HealthCare will showcase the systems at ESC Congress 2026.
The conference is scheduled to take place between August 28 and 31 in Munich, Germany. Nevertheless, the incidence of cardiovascular disease has not ceased to plague people globally. In fact, the population of patients suffering from cardiovascular disease has doubled since 1991. As such, health-care practitioners require versatile imaging systems in various clinical settings. Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced, and Vivid Focus supplement the premium Vivid Pioneer system.
The Vivid Explorer is used in echo laboratories for high workloads as well as routine interventional procedures. The system offers 4D, multiplane, and 2D imaging in various cardiac applications, including transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and intracardiac echocardiography. Moreover, AI and automation techniques facilitate cardiac imaging. The Vivid Advanced system caters to mid-sized hospitals and cardiology departments that experience heavy workloads.

AI and Imaging Technologies Strengthen Cardiology Workflows
Vivid Focus offers the cSound imaging technology for cardiac imaging in daily practice. In addition, the system includes the new 4Sc-RS transducer and AI-based workflow solutions. On the other hand, the Vivid iq offers improved performance and portability in a laptop-based ultrasound system.
GE Healthcare also upgraded EchoPAC Software Only to v211. This system has a wide variety of features for cardiovascular ultrasound analysis and reporting. The system allows for remote image analysis, review, and quantification. Standard tools also assist in workflow efficiency for image acquisition, analysis, and reporting. All three new devices utilize the cSound imaging platform through the software. The imaging system is helpful in visualizing contrast, resolution, and tissue.
AI-assisted software is included in the systems for regular echo workups. It includes AI Auto Measure 2D, Easy AutoEF, Easy AFI LV, and AI Cardiac Auto Doppler for faster, easier measurements. Additionally, the ergonomic design is adaptable for integration with Vivid systems.
For ESC 2026, GE HealthCare is set to launch its wider range of cardiology technologies. Among them, Revolution Vibe CT, MUSE NX, and Vscan Air SL are highlighted. The company will also demonstrate ComboLab AltiX AI and ViewPoint 6. These technologies will be showcased at Booth #H900. Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced, Vivid Focus, and EchoPAC Software Only v211 have achieved CE Mark approval. However, these three Vivid products are pending 510(k) in the U.S. FDA and are unavailable for sale in the U.S.
