Hologic and Inpeco Partner to Advance Molecular Laboratory Automation

Hologic and Inpeco

Hologic, Inc., a global leader in women’s health and diagnostics, and Inpeco S.A., a global leader in Total Laboratory Automation, have announced a new co-marketing partnership. The Hologic and Inpeco partnership will promote Inpeco’s FlexLab™ X automation solution alongside Hologic’s Panther® System across Europe. The agreement aims to advance molecular laboratory automation and help laboratories manage growing testing demands.

“Through our co-marketing partnership with Inpeco, we are helping molecular laboratories take the next step in automation by connecting Hologic’s proven Panther System with Inpeco’s advanced automation technology,” said Frédérique Gallis, Vice President, International Sales and Marketing at Hologic. “Together, we can help customers streamline workflows, increase throughput and enhance pre- and post-analytical sample traceability. This partnership reflects our commitment to delivering scalable solutions that support laboratories as they manage growing testing demands and prepare for the future of molecular diagnostics in an increasingly competitive environment.”

Connecting Molecular Diagnostics With Laboratory Automation

Inpeco recently launched its FlexLab X system to help laboratories connect multiple Panther Systems. By combining Hologic’s fully automated molecular diagnostics platform with FlexLab X’s open automation capabilities, laboratories can develop more efficient testing workflows. Consequently, they can potentially increase sample volumes¹ while improving end-to-end sample traceability². These improvements can also support reliable test results and better patient outcomes.³

The collaboration will bring the Panther System into highly automated environments with full sample tracking. This enables high throughput molecular labs to be more efficient in their operations and to be more productive.¹˒³˒⁴ The integrated technologies will also allow laboratories to track sample progression through different testing stages.

The collaboration will provide support to laboratories that require scalable automation solutions. These solutions can help manage the growing volumes of testing without compromising the importance of robust diagnostic processes. The collaboration merges the mature technology of molecular diagnostics with the flexibility of laboratory automation.

Hologic highlights benefits of the partnership

Gallis cited the need to bring the molecular diagnostics systems together with the latest automation technology. The partnership is aimed at improving lab processes, increasing testing capability and enhancing sample traceability before and after testing.

These capabilities can help laboratories manage operational complexity as diagnostic testing requirements expand. Therefore, the Hologic and Inpeco partnership reflects both companies’ focus on scalable solutions for modern molecular laboratories.

Inpeco Emphasizes Automation and Traceability

“At Inpeco, we see automation as a key driver of the future of laboratories, through fully automated, touchless and traceable diagnostic processes that begin outside the lab and extend inside,” said Riccardo Triunfo, CEO of Inpeco. “As molecular testing expands, laboratories require solutions that can manage increasing complexity while maintaining performance and reliability. With over 30 years of experience in laboratory automation, we are proud to bring our expertise to this important field. Our partnership with Hologic reflects our common dedication to innovation and our shared goal: helping laboratories embrace the future of molecular diagnostics with high performance and reliability.”

Triunfo emphasized that automation will play an important role in the future of diagnostic laboratories. Inpeco focuses on automated processes that improve traceability and reduce manual intervention. These processes can extend beyond the laboratory and continue throughout internal testing operations.

As more molecular testing is done, laboratories must manage increasingly complex workflows while ensuring performance and reliability. Inpeco contributes more than 30 years of experience in laboratory automation to the collaboration. Thus the partnership will combine its automation expertise with Hologic’s molecular diagnostics technology.

Both companies will work to help laboratories adopt innovative solutions that enable reliable, high-performance testing. Also, the two are collaborating to address the growing need for efficient lab operations and complete sample tracking.

Shaping the Future of Molecular Laboratory Automation

In Europe, the Hologic and Inpeco partnership is a collaborative approach to molecular laboratory automation. Connecting the Panther System to FlexLab X will enable laboratories to enhance throughput, workflow efficiency and sample traceability, the companies said.

As testing demands grow, integrated automation can help laboratories keep up with increasingly complex operations. The collaboration additionally emphasizes the need for scalable technologies to support modern diagnostic environments. Ultimately, the two companies want to help labs prepare for the evolving needs of molecular diagnostics.
