AI pathology adoption is gaining momentum as Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust expands its global reach. The Trust has secured a commercial agreement with Epredia to scale its innovative TANGO technology. This move aims to accelerate AI pathology adoption across international healthcare systems.
TANGO is an imaging innovation created by the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative that enhances the quality of staining done in laboratories. TANGO ensures efficient and effective diagnostic processes. Furthermore, TANGO is helpful in digital pathology and enhances cancer diagnostics using artificial intelligence. TANGO has been validate in global research studies.
Professor David Brettle, Chief Scientific Officer at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “This is a proud moment for Leeds and for the NHS. Expanding Digital Pathology Through Global Healthcare Collaboration
Under the agreement, Epredia will incorporate TANGO into its new line of pathology slide solutions. Hence, laboratories will be able to enjoy the benefits of the technology in making more accurate diagnoses. Furthermore, it is intended that Epredia will utilize its worldwide distribution system.

TANGO helps in overcoming the inconsistencies in diagnostic staining, which affect AI’s accuracy. As such, it improves the quality control and provides faster diagnoses.
