Aledade AI innovation is set to accelerate with the appointment of two new technology leaders. Aledade has named Daren Thayne as Chief Technology Officer and Josh C. Mandel, MD, as Chief Scientist.
The new appointments strengthen Aledade’s focus on artificial intelligence and healthcare technology. Both leaders bring experience in enterprise technology, data systems, and interoperability.
With the help of this knowledge, Aledade will be able to keep integrating AI into its platform. This would help to generate valuable insights for the primary care organizations. Therefore, the healthcare industry would benefit from it because it will help to improve patient outcomes while lowering the administrative hurdles. Daren Thayne will be leading Aledade’s engineering and data organization.
“Aledade has spent more than a decade building technology in service of a simple idea: keep patients healthy, and let practices share in the value,” said Farzad Mostashari, MD, co-founder and CEO of Aledade. “AI raises the stakes on that alignment. Deployed inside fee-for-service, it accelerates billing. Deployed inside our value-based care model, it accelerates health. Daren and Josh have built infrastructure and open standards at a national scale, and they’re joining us to make sure that the value created by AI in healthcare flows to patients and practices.”
Strengthening AI and Data Infrastructure for Value-Based Care
Previously, Thayne worked at Domo for more than 15 years. He served as a founding technology leader, Chief Technology Officer, and Executive Vice President of Product. In addition to his work at Domo, he created technological solutions for thousands of enterprise clients. Moreover, he facilitated the implementation of artificial intelligence-based tools that optimized the use of data. Prior to his appointment at Domo, Thayne worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Ancestry.com.
Moreover, Dr. Josh Mandel is scheduled to join Aledade in August as well. He will take charge of the company’s interoperability and data exchange efforts from the outside. In addition, he will be helping Aledade with its AI strategy. Dr. Mandel comes with the experience of being a doctor as well as a software engineer.
“Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building platforms that process massive data complexity at scale. Applying that architecture to healthcare is the ultimate opportunity to make a positive impact,” Thayne said. “Aledade has proven that the value-based care model works. My focus will be on scaling our engineering and data infrastructure with advanced AI to build products that enable clinicians to deliver high-quality care to more patients with less administrative burden.”
He contributed to the development of open healthcare standards at Microsoft Research, including FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources). This makes it possible to safely exchange health information between different organizations. In general, the Aledade AI innovation is an embodiment of the company’s efforts in the transformation of primary care. The new management will ensure the growth of AI capabilities.
