Ashley Carlucci

Ashley M. Carlucci, DNP, MHA, RN, CEN, CENP, is now the Chief Nurse Executive at Allegheny Health Network. On April 13, she will officially take on her leadership role. Carlucci will be in charge of more than 6,000 nurses in the whole network. She is in charge of managing the nursing teams at the bedside, in the clinic, and in the office. Before that, she was the Market Chief Nursing Officer at University Hospitals in Ohio. She has a lot of experience with operational excellence and coming up with new ways to hire nurses. In her last market, she was in charge of nursing strategies at seven regional hospitals, which is a big deal.

“Ashley is an outstanding leader who has consistently demonstrated a profound commitment to elevating nursing practice and fostering a culture of compassion, clinical excellence, and professional accountability,” said Mark Sevco, president, AHN. “Her purpose-driven approach to leadership and mentorship inspires nursing innovation, advocacy, and excellence in human caring. We are thrilled to welcome her to Pittsburgh.”

Driving Innovation and Excellence in Nursing

Carlucci also played a key role in changing how care was given while she was in Ohio. She focused on helping people become better leaders and improving the metrics for operational performance. As a result, her work led to clear improvements in the quality of care for patients and the involvement of staff. Carlucci has a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University. She is also a member of several top healthcare leadership groups that are still active. Many well-known clinical journals have published her work on collaborative care models. Lastly, she is excited to make the nursing workforce stronger for the future.

“I am honored to join the AHN leadership team and to partner with the extraordinary nurses across the network who deliver exceptional, compassionate care every day,” Carlucci said. “I look forward to listening, learning, and building strong relationships throughout AHN as we advance nursing excellence, strengthen our workforce for the future, and position AHN as both the employer and provider of choice in the communities we serve.”
