Cleerly to Present Late-Breaking Results from the First Randomized Trial of AI-QCT-Guided Care in Stable Chest Pain Patients at AHA 2026

Cleerly

Cleerly has confirmed participation in the AHA Scientific Sessions 2026 scheduled to take place from November 6 to 9 at McCormick Place Convention Centre in Chicago, Illinois. Important to note, Cleerly will share top-line results from the study PARAMOUNT, which is recognized to be the first randomized trial to compare personalized healthcare driven by AI-QCT technology (AI-QCT) with conventional practice. The trial involved symptomatic patients suspected of having coronary artery disease (CAD). Additionally, the Cleerly team will have the AI-QCT technology demonstrated live at the event. The technology provides a complete, quantitative analysis of coronary plaque to aid physicians in their clinical decisions.

Udo Hoffmann, MD, MPH, Chief Medical, Scientific, and AI Officer at Cleerly and a PARAMOUNT author, shared his enthusiasm for the study. “We are thrilled that PARAMOUNT is the first randomized trial in which care teams were assisted by Cleerly’s AI technology to assess both coronary atherosclerosis and myocardial ischemia and to use those insights in medical and interventional care,” said Udo Hoffmann, MD, MPH, Chief Medical, Scientific, and AI Officer at Cleerly and a PARAMOUNT author. He added, “While traditional care is focused on detecting and reconstituting flow limiting coronary lesions, PARAMOUNT will assess a new paradigm of ‘Diagnosing, Staging and Treating’ CAD to unlock the benefits of both medical and interventional care for our patients. We’re excited to share these results with the cardiovascular community, and we invite everyone at AHA to join Dr. Villines on Saturday morning.”

Late-Breaking Science Presentation at AHA 2026

PARAMOUNT’s primary results will be presented on Saturday, November 7 at 9:45 a.m. by Todd C. Villines, MD, University of Virginia. He will represent the trial investigators. His talk is in the Late-Breaking Science session, “Stable Ischemic Heart Disease: What Happens in the Long Run.” The session will be held in Learning Studio 2. However, the results are embargoed until the time of presentation.

PARAMOUNT is a clinical strategy trial. It randomized 530 patients with stable chest pain at 21 sites across the US. Researchers designed the study to test whether AI-QCT-enabled Cleerly PLAQUE and ISCHEMIA assessment and staging helps caregivers improve medical and interventional management. The team compares this approach with usual care over 180 days of follow-up.

TRANSFORM Session Focuses on Diagnosing, Staging, and Treating CAD

Later that day, on Saturday, November 7, TRANSFORM investigators will hold a discussion from 3:15 to 4:00 p.m. CT in Learning Studio 3. The panel will cover diagnosing, staging, and treating CAD. Deepak L. Bhatt, MD, MPH, MBA, of Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital, will join the discussion. Marc P. Bonaca, MD, MPH, of CPC and the University of Colorado School of Medicine, will also take part. Dr. Hoffmann and Pam R. Taub, MD, of UC San Diego Health, complete the panel. Attendees can enjoy complimentary healthy snack boxes and beverages during the session.

TRANSFORM is a randomized, event-driven outcomes trial. It evaluates an AI-guided approach to staging and treating CAD in asymptomatic patients at increased risk for heart attacks. Specifically, the trial tests whether care guided by Cleerly’s investigational Coronary Artery Disease Staging System reduces heart attacks and other cardiovascular events. The comparison group receives usual prevention based on traditional risk factors alone. TRANSFORM currently operates across 125 U.S. sites and expects to report primary results in 2029. The American Heart Association Committee on Scientific Sessions Programming confirmed that this event is separate from its official 2026 Scientific Sessions Conference.
