Grindr Finalizes Acquisition of Freddie, Fast-Tracking the Growth of Grindr Health

Grindr Health

Grindr Inc. (NYSE: GRND), the Global Gayborhood in Your Pocket™, has completed its Freddie acquisition. The company announced the closing today. Grindr now owns PurposeMed Inc., the parent company of Freddie. Freddie leads the market as a telehealth provider of PrEP and HIV prevention care across the United States and Canada.

Following an announcement from Grindr on the 30th September 2026, Grindr Freddie has been acquired by Grindr Health. This means that Freddie and its connections to associated clinical networks are now part of Grindr Health and providing access to PrEP is at the heart of Grindr Health.

The transaction also adds clinical, telehealth, pharmacy, and patient-support capabilities. Consequently, Grindr can connect more people with HIV prevention care inside the app. Meanwhile, the company builds a new business alongside its core app and premium products.

Grindr CEO Explains the Strategic Value of the Deal

George Arison, CEO of Grindr, shared his excitement about the news. He said:

“We are very excited to welcome the Freddie team to Grindr and can’t wait to work together to make HIV prevention care easier for more gay men to access. The acquisition gives us a profitable business, an experienced team, and clinical and pharmacy capabilities that would take us at least two years to build ourselves,” said George Arison, CEO of Grindr. “We can now combine those capabilities with Grindr’s reach and daily relationship with gay men to bring more patients into care and accelerate the fight against the HIV epidemic. Together, we have an opportunity to prevent thousands of new HIV infections a year while building a major new source of profitable growth for Grindr.”

Freddie brings HIV prevention care into the Grindr experience. In addition, the move advances Grindr’s vision for the Global Gayborhood in Your Pocket™.

Grindr users eligible in the US and Canada now have access to Freddie. Simply go to the Health center in the Grindr app. Over time Grindr will develop an integrated platform to help users find out about, access and manage HIV prevention care.

Transaction Details: $250 Million Deal With Performance-Based Payout

Under the agreement, Grindr acquired PurposeMed Inc. for $250 million. The purchase includes the Freddie brand and its partnerships with affiliated clinical networks. Specifically, the price consists of $190 million in cash and $60 million in Grindr common stock.

The deal also includes up to $70 million of additional cash consideration. The payment is conditional on performance targets for 2027. Grindr will pay it in 2028.

More information about Freddie’s business and operations is available in the Shareholder Letter dated September 30, 2026. Grindr published the letter on its investor relations website. Overall, the Grindr Freddie acquisition is a big step for Grindr Health.
