Lydia Arroyo Named Chief Nursing Officer of PIH Health Whittier Hospital

PIH Health Whittier Hospital recently announced a major leadership update. Specifically, the organization officially named Lydia Arroyo, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). In this new role, Arroyo leads executive oversight for all nursing practices. She also manages daily operations at PIH Health Whittier Hospital. This move highlights her impressive healthcare executive career. Currently, she possesses over two decades of clinical experience. Consequently, she brings deep expertise to this critical position.

Arroyo originally joined PIH Health in 2022. She first served as the senior director for Maternal Child Health Services. During that time, she managed three departments successfully. Additionally, she oversaw the integration of the women’s health service line. Later, in 2025, she became the interim senior director of Surgical Services. The organization then promoted her to vice president of Nursing Operations. In that role, she managed Perioperative and Gastroenterology Services.

Her leadership led to notable recognition for PIH Health Whittier Hospital. The facility gained status as a top hospital for Maternity Care. Furthermore, Arroyo expressed her gratitude for this new professional opportunity.

Regarding her education, Arroyo holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She earned this degree from Pacific College. Additionally, she received her Master of Science in Nursing from Herzing University. Finally, she specialized as a family nurse practitioner during her graduate studies.
