TruBridge Commits to CMS Health Tech Ecosystem Pledge as Nation’s Dedicated Voice for Rural Health Providers

TruBridge Signs CMS Health Tech Ecosystem Pledge as Nation’s Leading Rural Healthcare Platform

TruBridge, Inc. officially signed the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Health Tech Ecosystem Pledge. The technology provider joins this national electronic prior authorization initiative to advocate for rural healthcare teams.

This administrative acceleration program unifies insurance payers, healthcare providers, electronic health record vendors, and technology companies. CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz announced the initial ecosystem partners at the Axios Future of Health Summit on May 13.

Eliminating Manual Workflows to Reduce Doctor Burnout

The agreement targets enhanced technical interoperability. The primary goal is to eliminate slow, manual data entry tasks. CMS data shows that providers lose roughly 700 hours to prior authorization annually. This loss represents 13 hours every week.  Furthermore, data indicates 93% of physicians witness care delays due to these processing hurdles. Complexity causes 82% of patients to forgo necessary medical treatment. This manual system hurts medical staff, as 89% report increased career burnout. Manual faxes and constant insurance denials create unsustainable environments for rural clinics facing staff shortages.

TruBridge previously signed the CMS “Kill the Clipboard” Pledge in March. The business is also a founding member of the CommonWell Health Alliance. CommonWell operates as a Qualified Health Information Network for standardized health data exchange.

“We’ve served rural and community healthcare organizations for decades, and we know these providers cannot afford administrative processes that slow care and pull limited staff away from patients,” said Chris Fowler, president and CEO at TruBridge. “TruBridge is committed to working alongside key industry partners, including payers, providers, and policy leaders, to help reduce unnecessary administrative burden, improve access to care, and ensure healthcare teams, especially in rural communities, can stay focused on what matters most: caring for patients.”

The organization continues to advocate for federal policies that prioritize community-based healthcare realities over standard urban enterprise designs.
