ModMed Announces U.S. Orthopaedic Partners Enterprise-wide Rollout of the AI-Powered Practice Across More Than 55 Locations

AI-Powered Practice technology from ModMed has been deployed across more than 55 U.S. Orthopaedic Partners (USOP) locations. The enterprise-wide rollout unifies operations for over 300 providers through a single connected platform.

The deployment replaces nine legacy systems with one integrated solution. As a result, USOP now uses a centralized platform for electronic health records, practice management, patient engagement, and revenue cycle management services.

Before implementing ModMed, USOP faced challenges caused by disconnected systems. Consequently, data sharing and organizational growth became increasingly difficult. By moving to a unified platform, the organization improved workflow efficiency and increased operational visibility.

“Getting everyone onto the same platform opened up capabilities many of our practices hadn’t had before, transforming how we view our entire business,” said Randy White, Senior Vice President of Information Technology at USOP. “Before, mapping data from a dozen different systems was a manual process that could take weeks. Now, we have a single source of truth which gives us faster, more reliable insights and helps us make better decisions as an organization.”

Enterprise Rollout Delivers Measurable Results

Through the deployment of the complete AI-Powered Practice suite, USOP achieved significant operational improvements. The organization estimates savings of more than 30,000 staff hours through automated specialty protocols.

Additionally, providers reduced documentation time by three to seven minutes per patient visit. Financial performance also improved, with billing collection times reduced to less than 30 days.

“Like any software transition, there was some hesitation at first, but most of our providers would tell you today it was worth the effort,” added USOP’s White.

To support adoption, USOP established a structured rollout process led by physician champions and super-users. Therefore, practices joined the platform while maintaining patient care standards.

“Going live on ModMed was never the finish line. The real work is learning the system, pushing it, improving it, and making sure it works for the physicians and teams using it every day,” said Dr. Gabriel Rulewicz of Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center. “That’s where our super users have been so valuable, and I’ve enjoyed staying engaged with ModMed to help keep that momentum moving for USOP.”

USOP is also leveraging ModMed Scribe 2.0, an AI-powered clinical assistant that helps simplify documentation tasks.

“ModMed Scribe has changed the way I practice. I can spend more time looking at my patients and less time staring at a screen, and that matters,” said Dr. Jonathan Brown of Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists. “I’ve told our team more than once, ‘I won’t have clinic without it. Where’s my iPad?’ I’m proud to help train and champion a tool that makes that kind of difference.”

“USOP is the perfect example of how an AI-native foundation can strip away the busywork of practicing medicine and improve business operations,” said Patrick Herde, General Manager at ModMed. “Having unified their systems, they are now in a powerful position to easily bring on additional practices that want the advantage of a modern, AI-powered organization.”
