Memorial Healthcare System recently made a strategic appointment for its Chief Medical Officer. On March 2, 2026, Dr. LaKeeya Tucker officially took on this job. She is in charge of Memorial Hospital Pembroke and Memorial Hospital Miramar, to be exact. She will focus her leadership on improving clinical outcomes and ensuring patient safety. She also wants to improve the experiences of patients and the engagement of medical staff.
Dr. Tucker has more than 23 years of experience as a doctor and an executive. She is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, which is very important. Before this, she was a partner at Alliance OB/GYN. She was also the Chief of Staff at the University of Michigan Health Sparrow Lansing. She has a history of improving quality and engaging doctors in difficult situations.
“Dr. Tucker is a highly respected physician leader with deep expertise in quality, safety, and clinical excellence,” said Stephen Demers, Chief Executive Officer, Memorial Hospital Miramar, and Felicia Turnley, Chief Executive Officer, Memorial Hospital Pembroke, in a joint statement. “Her collaborative approach and proven focus on patient safety and outcomes will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen care delivery across both hospitals and ensure our patients receive the highest-quality care close to home.”
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine gave Dr. Tucker her medical degree. In addition, she is a Certified Physician Executive. She is still dedicated to helping young doctors in her community. As a result, her job will focus on providing person-centered care to all patients.
“I’m honored to join Memorial Hospital Miramar and Memorial Hospital Pembroke as Chief Medical Officer,” said Dr. Tucker. “I look forward to working alongside our physicians, nurses, and teams to advance patient-centered care, support a strong culture of safety, and deliver exceptional care for every patient, every day.”
