Bonsai makes use of SMS and email communications to handle reactivation and scheduling for patients without any staff intervention. Such automated processes increase efficiency for medical practices. The system is an add-on to ModMed’s suite of patient engagement tools based on Klara.

ModMed plans to accelerate Bonsai Health’s growth by expanding its reach across nearly 50,000 healthcare providers. The company serves multiple specialties, including dermatology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, and ENT practices. The acquisition strengthens ModMed’s leadership by adding experienced founders from Bonsai Health to its team. Travis Schneider and Luke Kervin bring significant expertise in patient engagement and previously co-founded PatientPop.
