The partnership will enable employers to give eligible employees GLP-1 assistance that is scalable. According to the National Health and Well-Being Index by Gallup, 11% of American adults take GLP-1 drugs for weight loss.
“Employers are looking for smarter, more sustainable ways to address rising healthcare costs while improving outcomes for their people,” said Jessica Borchik, SVP, Partner Strategy and Sales at Alight. “By welcoming eMed into our Partner Network, we’re expanding access to a clinically rigorous, outcomes-focused approach to GLP-1 management that helps organizations support employee health while maintaining cost control.”

That percentage had risen from 3% in 2024. Additionally, the need for the management of obesity and other chronic conditions is still rising. For this reason, companies need solutions that will ensure the well-being of employees & manage costs associated with health care. In its quest to improve the health ecosystem, Alight is now partnering with eMed. eMed has an outcomes-based GLP-1 product for the preventive health management of employers. The platform addresses various workforce health strategies and objectives.
As a result, qualified employees can receive customized treatment depending on their personal situation. Furthermore, the partnership can offer more visibility for employers on how these treatments are used & what results are achieved. The partnership can assist Fortune 500 companies that currently work with the company.
“We’re at a pivotal moment in healthcare where employers have an opportunity to fundamentally change the trajectory of population health and chronic diseases,” said Greg Page, SVP Partnerships & Strategy at eMed. “By partnering with Alight, we’re combining access and accountability in a way that helps organizations improve employee health, manage costs, and realize the full promise of GLP-1 therapies.”
Overall, the partnership will enable eMed and its partner to offer scalable GLP-1 management capabilities to employers. The management capabilities are aimed at ensuring utilization management and adherence to treatment programs. In addition, the partnership seeks to cut down on unnecessary healthcare costs. On the other hand, the employees will benefit from receiving an integrated health experience. The joint venture, therefore, expands the options available to employers in managing GLP-1 benefits.
