HM Hospitals and Huawei Launch Global Smart Healthcare Showcase Initiative

HM Hospitals and Huawei Jointly Launch a Global Smart Healthcare Showcase

During MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei and HM Hospitals officially opened their Global Smart Healthcare Showcase. This important project is Huawei’s first intelligent healthcare exhibition in Europe. At first, the summit was all about how AI speeds up intelligence in clinical settings. The partnership brings together the best of Chinese digital tools with European medical knowledge. The project is important because it gives a clear plan for how to modernize medical facilities around the world.

Li Junfeng, Vice President of Huawei and CEO of the Global Public Sector BU, stated in his speech that as Huawei’s first smart healthcare showcase in Europe, HM Hospitals integrates China’s leading digital technologies with European healthcare expertise, providing a practical blueprint for the intelligent upgrade of the global healthcare industry.

Wi-Fi 7 is helping to improve medical infrastructure.

Also, the showcase has high-performance Wi-Fi 7 and advanced devices for managing wards. These tools work well for modern doctors because they need a lot of bandwidth and low latency. Additionally, Huawei introduced its Medical Technology Digitalization solution to improve how things work on campus. The CampusInsight platform is used by the network to make maintenance and operations smarter. In the meantime, the group improved its storage systems by adding all-flash solutions to make sure that services

would continue. This foundation makes it possible to store a lot of unstructured medical files. As a result, the hospital now has a fast digital base for smart diagnosis.

Xavier Tarrago Bonfill, Digital Transformation Project Director of HM Hospitals, detailed the technical architecture and application achievements of the showcase in his keynote speech. By upgrading digital and intelligent infrastructure and introducing Huawei’s solutions such as Medical Technology Digitalization and Smart Hospital Campus, both parties are comprehensively advancing the construction of smart hospitals. In campus and ward management scenarios, Wi-Fi 7 and high-performance devices have been deployed, paired with 2.5GE wired access to meet clinical requirements for low latency and high bandwidth.
