Revvity has introduced its SuperFlex prenatal screening system to expand access to Preeclampsia Testing. The compact platform supports reliable testing for lower-volume laboratories and clinics.
SuperFlex is a CE-IVDR certified immunoassay platform. It provides an ideal choice for laboratories looking to perform efficient and versatile prenatal testing. Preeclampsia impacts about 2% to 8% of pregnancies globally. The increasing age of women, diabetes, and hypertension further contribute to the growing incidence of preeclampsia.
It is recommended that tests be done for preeclampsia in pregnant women. However, the centralized laboratories have been used in this kind of testing. The SuperFlex from Revvity was developed to try and solve this problem.
“This SuperFlex offering represents a significant addition to our prenatal portfolio,” said Anna Godenhjelm, vice president and general manager of reproductive health at Revvity. “By removing the financial and operational barriers to in-house prenatal screening, we are giving more women access to potentially life-saving testing regardless of where they receive care.”
It comes with the added advantage of being inexpensive in terms of the price of its instrument and needing only one maintenance service per year. In addition, it helps in avoiding reagent wastage in cases where laboratories work on smaller sample sizes. Besides, its user-friendly nature makes it easy to operate.
SuperFlex Supports Flexible Prenatal Testing
The program is designed in such a way that it enables the transfer of data in LIMS as well, which facilitates easy management of testing details for the laboratories. Additionally, continuous sample loading makes it possible to obtain results within just 14 minutes. In such a way, the system will cater to both immediate and laboratory purposes.
Moreover, SuperFlex allows biochemical prenatal screening for the first and second trimesters of pregnancy. This test panel provides flexibility as an option for the decentralized mode of testing. The random access platform also provides an efficient way to perform the testing for laboratories that have varying testing needs.
Initially, Revvity will be introducing the SuperFlex platform into markets that allow instruments with CE markings. Revvity intends to introduce SuperFlex across the Asia-Pacific region by late 2026. This launch reinforces Revvity’s portfolio of prenatal diagnostic offerings, as well as responds to the needs for affordable and accessible testing products. In addition, it provides an answer to the demands for convenient methods of Preeclampsia Testing. With its small design and adaptable workflow, SuperFlex hopes to bring prenatal testing closer to the patient.
