Sanofi expanded its work in AI-powered drug development through a deeper partnership with Snowflake during Snowflake Summit 26.
The company introduced a new blueprint for biopharma with a unified, AI-ready foundation. This foundation is designed to support faster decision-making across research, manufacturing, and commercial teams. Additionally, Sanofi launched a new AI agent called “Concierge for Field.” The tool helps sales teams prepare for physician visits in seconds instead of hours.
The initiative reflects Sanofi’s effort to simplify how teams access and use business information. Instead of relying on disconnected systems and multiple applications, the company now uses Snowflake Cortex AI to power AI directly on enterprise data. Snowflake CoWork and AI workflow partner Elementum also help Sanofi streamline operations and reduce delays tied to legacy software.
Sanofi Expands Biopharma Workflows Through AI Systems
The new “Concierge for Field” tool offers a proven example of AI in action. Built on Snowflake Cortex AI, the platform helps sales representatives review physician engagement history, identify visit priorities, and generate AI-powered pre-call plans in seconds. As a result, teams spend less time preparing and more time focusing on customer engagement.
Moreover, Sanofi continues to expand AI workflows across procurement, IT, HR, field sales, and research operations. Through Elementum, the company unifies enterprise data on Snowflake, allowing teams to build AI workflows directly on governed information. Research teams also process real-world clinical data faster, helping improve planning and support quicker decisions tied to AI-powered drug development.
“For years, we have been building complex pipelines to move data in and out of expensive software, just to access our own data,” said Emmanuel Frenehard, Chief Digital Officer, Sanofi. “With Snowflake and Elementum, we saw a clear path forward. We are building AI directly on our data and reinventing how the company runs, from R&D to manufacturing to commercial. This is how Sanofi becomes the first biopharma powered by AI at scale.”
Snowflake’s Forward Deployed Engineers work directly within customer teams to develop AI solutions. The team includes AI engineers, researchers, full-stack and data engineers, data professionals, industry specialists, and AI product managers. They are collaborating closely with Sanofi’s data and engineering teams to scale AI capabilities. Meanwhile, Elementum’s AI applications operate directly on the Snowflake platform.
“Sanofi is showing what becomes possible when AI is built directly on top of trusted enterprise data,” said Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO of Snowflake. “Instead of layering AI onto fragmented legacy systems, they are using Snowflake as the foundation for a unified, agentic enterprise, connecting research, manufacturing, and commercial operations on a single AI-ready platform. Sanofi is proof that AI is creating measurable impact in the real world. From accelerating drug development to helping field teams operate with greater speed and precision, this is the future Snowflake enables: intelligent systems working directly on governed data to help organizations move faster, operate smarter, and ultimately deliver better outcomes for the people they serve.”
