Signia Introduces MaX With Acoustic Intelligence and 4 DNNs

Signia has launched the Signia MaX, a new AI hearing aid platform based on Acoustic Intelligence™. According to the company, the platform is the world’s first multi-dimensional AI hearing aid platform with four Deep Neural Networks (DNNs). The new Signia MaX platform is designed to help hearing aid wearers stay connected in difficult listening situations. It focuses on noisy environments with several people talking at the same time. Signia created Acoustic Intelligence™ to look at multiple dimensions of sound simultaneously. These dimensions are speech, noise, environmental conditions and the wearer’s own voice. 

The approach moves beyond traditional hearing aid systems that mainly use AI for noise reduction. Instead, Signia MaX uses four task-specific DNNs that work together in real time. According to Signia, 97% of wearers perform better with Signia MaX in noisy group conversations than with key competitors.1 The platform also ranked No. 1 in SNR performance for group conversations in noise.2 The new Signia MaX chip further supports the platform’s processing capabilities. It delivers 54X more processing power than previous generations. It also provides 50% greater energy efficiency and twice the memory.3*

Acoustic Intelligence Uses Four Deep Neural Networks

Acoustic Intelligence™ uses four task-specific Deep Neural Networks. Each network provides its own piece of the listening experience. The four DNNs are speech detection, own voice detection, scene analysis and noise processing They function in tandem to create a coordinated real-time system of sound processing.

The system doesn’t limit AI to a single function like traditional hearing aid architecture. Instead, the four DNNs are constantly sharing information between each other. The approach allows the platform to consider the whole listening environment. Then it can make sound processing decisions based upon changing conditions. Acoustic Intelligence™ provides four core features that enhance the MaX platform. These features are aimed at different aspects of everyday hearing. 

Real Time Conversation EnhancementAI finds and improves upon several conversational partners. It excels in dynamic group conversations and processes 75% more data points per second than Signia IX. Voice Own ProcessingAI is able to identify the wearer’s own voice instantly. It also works in a clinic without calibration.

Adaptation to Ambient Scene:AI is constantly assessing many environmental characteristics. It is beyond the traditional scene classification and fixed listening programs. Dynamic Noise ControlAI identifies ambient noise type and location. It also takes into account whether the wearer is speaking to someone. 

The system then adjusts noise reduction according to the listening situation. As a result, users can experience a more responsive hearing environment. Signia also combines this AI processing with its ultra-fast ear-to-ear technology. This keeps both hearing aids synchronized as environmental conditions change. The coordinated binaural system supports faster and more consistent processing decisions. Therefore, both ears can respond together as the listening environment changes.

Signia Pure C&G MaX Brings New Connectivity Options

The first hearing aid available on the MaX platform will be the Signia Pure C&G MaX. This receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aid is designed for everyday use. The Pure C&G MaX will come in eight color options. This gives wearers more choices based on their personal style and lifestyle needs. The device includes a compact portable charger. The charger can store up to four full charges. It can fully charge the hearing aid in four hours. Meanwhile, a 30-minute charge provides up to six hours of runtime.

The Pure C&G MaX also introduces OneConnect Technology. The technology supports Bluetooth® Classic, LE Audio, Telecoil, and Auracast™ connectivity. This connectivity approach gives hearing care professionals one platform for different patient requirements. It also reduces the need to select devices based on smartphone compatibility alone.

Signia plans to make MaX available across several key markets. These markets include the U.S., Germany, and the Nordics. The company will make Signia MaX available in these markets on August 24, 2026. Most remaining markets will receive the platform later in 2026. With Acoustic Intelligence™, four DNNs, and upgraded processing hardware, Signia aims to expand AI-powered hearing technology. The company also seeks to improve hearing experiences in complex and noisy environments.
